T-Mobile Wireless Pointer Broadband Device Launched

T-Mobile UK (www.t-mobile.co.uk/wirelesspointer) has launched the T-Mobile Wireless Pointer, a small portable Wi-Fi device which connects to the T-Mobile 3G network and lets multiple users access mobile broadband download speeds up to 7.2Mbps.
The device, which can easily be carried in a pocket or bag for instant Wi-Fi internet access, features a mobile broadband signal indicator which helps users find the best location for picking up a strong T-Mobile signal.
With no installation software needed and nothing to plug into a laptop, users of the T-Mobile Wireless Pointer can quickly connect their Wi-Fi gadgets like laptops, tablet PC’s (e.g Apple iPad) and music players (e.g iPod Touch) to the Internet without any wires or hassle.
Users can also swap files between PCs, Macs and phones by slipping a microSD card into the slot of the Wireless Pointer and saving their files.
The Wi-Fi device is available for free with T-Mobile’s £15 a month mobile broadband plan (24 month contract applies) which offers speeds up to 7.2Mpbs and a 2GB download allowance.
Users not wanting a contract can opt for T-Mobile’s pay-per-day mobile broadband plan which costs £2 a day and a one-off £59.99 for the T-Mobile Wireless Pointer.

Users who order the pay-per-day plan before Januray 31st will also qualify for 30 days free Internet browsing when they buy their first £2 per day.

Orange Mobile WiFi Broadband Device Launched

Orange (www.orange.co.uk/mobilewifi) has launched its first Mobile WiFi broadband device enabling users to create their own portable WiFi hotspot or ‘internet bubble’ using the Orange 3G network.
The Novatel Wireless 3352 is an ultra-light, palm-sized wireless receiver that picks up the Orange 3G network at the touch of a button and creates its own Broadband hotspot.
The WiFi hotspot can be simultaneously shared with 5 WiFi enabled gadgets like laptops, tablets, music players and games consoles – enabling friends and family to use each others’ Internet connection.
Orange Mobile WiFi is available with all Orange mobile broadband Racoon and Dolphin animal plans. Prices for the stylish device range from a one-off £49 to £89 depending on the plan taken.
Orange Mobile Broadband animal plans start from £5 a month for download speeds up to 7.2Mpbs and a 1GB monthly data allowance.

Orange Customers Get £5 p/m Off Mobile Broadband

Orange (www.orange.co.uk) has launched an exclusive £5 per month discount across its mobile broadband deals as part of a refresh of its mobile broadband offering.
The £5 monthly discount is only available to existing Orange pay monthly, pay as you go and home broadband customers as the company continues its strategy of rewarding its existing customers with the best value.
The refresh also sees the launch of new Dolphin and Racoon mobile broadband packages that come with either a one or 12 month contract period.
The new Orange Dolphin plans, priced from £15 a month, offer mobile broadband speeds up to 7.2Mbps with a 1GB monthly download allowance.
An additional 1GB of data allowance, available from midnight to 4pm, is also available on specific Dolphin plans as is unlimited public Wi-Fi via BT Openzone.
The new Racoon packages, designed for the occasional mobile broadband user, include a pay as you consume option at 5 pence per megabyte (MB), with existing Orange customers not having to pay the £5 monthly subscription.

Racoon’s second plan offers a 500MB monthly data allowance available on either a one or 12 month contract with prices starting from £10 a month for non Orange customers.
The Orange E1752 dongle is included for free in all 12 month contract tariffs, while those opting for the pay as you consume or 1 month contract options will need to pay a one-off £15 or £29 depending on whether they take the Dolphin or Racoon plan.

TalkTalk Broadband Adds Mobile Broadband Deal

TalkTalk (TalkTalk.co.uk) has added a mobile broadband deal to its home broadband and home phone offerings as it looks to attract more new customers to its award winning services.
Exclusively available to TalkTalk customers only, the mobile broadband deal provides speeds up to 7.2Mbps together with a 1GB monthly data allowance for just £10 a month.
The 1GB download allowance is enough to download 5 four minute videos and 32 four minute music tracks per month, in addition to surfing the internet for 10 hours and sending 1,000 emails.

TalkTalk’s new mobile broadband package is available on a rolling one month contract as opposed to a fixed 12 or 18 month contract.
A one-off payment of £29.99 is required for the TalkTalk dongle which connects a users laptop to TalkTalk’s mobile broadband network – which is provided by Vodafone.
TalkTalk offer one of the UK’s cheapest home broadband and phone deals in the UK with prices starting from just £6.99 a month for the Essentials package.
TalkTalk Essentials provides home broadband speeds up to 24Mbps together with unlimited evening and weekend phone calls to UK landlines.
Available to 80% of UK households, the deal also includes a free connection offer saving new customers £29.99 when they sign up online at the wwww.TalkTalk.co.uk website.

Virgin Broadband & Phone Deals Saving £90 End Sunday

Virgin Media’s (www.virginmedia.com) web exclusive broadband and phone deals, generating savings of £90 are set to end this Sunday, the 31st October 2010.
New customers now have just 2 days left to order a broadband and phone package online at the www.virginmedia.com website in order to take advantage of Virgin Media’s free installation offer (saving £40) and £50 free credit offer.
Virgin Media’s broadband and phone deals are priced from £5 a month for 10Mbps download speeds plus unlimited weekend calls to UK landlines.

Virginmedia.com/100Mb Broadband Roll Out Dates

Virgin Media (www.virginmedia.com/100Mb) has released the roll out dates for its new 100Mbps fibre optic broadband speeds.
Providing customers with download speeds up to 20 times faster than the average broadband speeds in the UK, the 100Mbps service will be available from this December to parts of London, the South East and Yorkshire.
By mid 2012, the company expects to have completed the 100Mbps roll-out across its fibre optic broadband network which covers over 13 million UK homes.
Equipped with speeds close to 100Mbps, customers will be able to download an entire music album in 5 seconds, a TV show in 30 seconds, a high quality movie in 1½ minutes and a high definition movie in 7 minutes.
Commenting on the launch, Virgin Media’s CEO, Neil Berkett, said: “The launch of our 100Mb service is a significant milestone in the UK’s broadband evolution and a vivid illustration of the power of our next generation network”.
Prime Minister David Cameron welcomed the news, saying: “We want to see superfast broadband brought to peoples’ homes and businesses right across the country and this exciting news takes us a step closer towards reaching that goal.”
Pricing for the Virgin Broadband 100Mbps service, which also features 10Mb upload speeds, starts from £35 a month when taken as part of a broadband and phone bundle, or £45 when purchased as a sole package.
New customers switching to Virgin Media can currently get broadband speeds up to 50Mbps and weekend phone calls for as little as £12.50 a month as part of the company’s new 6 months half price offer.
Free installation (saving £40) is also available to new customers who order online.
