BT Vision To Bring BBC iPlayer On To TV

BT (www.BT.com/btvision) has announced plans to bring the BBC iPlayer to televisions via its BT Vision digital TV service.
The phased release will start next month with all BT Vision customers able to access the full BBC iPlayer service on their TV by April 2011.
Commenting on the news, BT Retail’s Chief Executive of Television and Online Services, Marc Watson, said: “We are really excited to be partnering with the BBC to bring the BBC iPlayer service to BT Vision customers. The launch of BBC iPlayer on BT Vision adds to the vast range of quality entertainment already available to our customers”.
BT Vision is BT’s on demand digital TV service, offering access to thousands of hours of TV, films and sports programmes using a customer’s BT Broadband connection.
With BT Vision, customers can watch all their terrestrial and Freeview channels, have the ability to pause, record and rewind live TV, catch up on the best of last week’s shows, plus watch any extra films, TV shows and sport on demand. Premium channels like Sky Sports 1 and 2 can also be added from £6.99 a month.
BT Vision costs from £7.50 a month for existing BT Broadband customers. Non BT customers can get BT Vision digital TV, up to 20Mbps broadband speeds and unlimited UK weekend phone calls in one great package costing from just £17.99 per month.

Virgin Media Offer £50 Credit On Broadband, TV, Phone

Virgin Media (www.virginmedia.com/bundles) has launched a £50 credit offer for new customers who order a Virgin Broadband, TV & Phone bundle online by the 30th November.
The £50 credit will be applied to the customers first bill and can be used in conjunction with Virgin Media’s current 6 months half price offer on bundles and its free installation incentive.
The announcement means new customers opting for Virgin Media’s entry level broadband, TV and phone bundle can now save themselves £148.50 in the first year provided they order online at the www.virginmedia.com/bundles website by the 22nd November.
Virgin Media’s entry level triple bundle provides up to 10Mbps broadband speeds with unlimited usage, 65 digital TV channels, plus unlimited weekend phone calls to UK landlines and Virgin mobiles.
It is available for £9.50 a month for the first 6 months when taken with Virgin Phone line rental costing £12.24 per month.
New customers can build their own broadband, TV and phone bundle with broadband speeds up to 50Mbps available, together with high definition TV channels and anytime phone calls to UK landlines and Virgin Mobiles.

BT Broadband Wi-Fi Network Tops 2 Million Hotspots

BT (BT.com/freewifi) has announced that its Wi-Fi broadband network now has 2 million hotspots across the UK – all of which can be used for free by BT Broadband customers.
The announcement reaffirms BT’s position as the UK’s largest Wi-Fi provider with hotspots available in major city centres, the London Underground, high street chains, independent businesses and homes.
Well-known brands offering BT Wi-Fi access include the Hilton, Thistle, Ramada Jarvis and Macdonald hotel chains, Caffe Nero and Starbucks coffee stores, Welcome Break and RoadChef Costa service stations and British Airways airport lounges.
Commenting on the announcement, BT Retail’s CEO, Gavin Patterson, said: “Demand for wireless access is growing at a record rate, we’ve added more than 780,000 hotspots in the last six months and will continue to meet the demand”.
BT is the only UK broadband provider to include free, unlimited Wi-Fi, within all their broadband packages.
BT Broadband customers using their iPhone, iPad, laptop or other Wi-Fi enabled gadget can access the internet wirelessley when out and about by connecting to their nearest Wi-Fi hotspot.
Customers with an iPhone or Android device can also download a free app from the iTunes App Store or the Android Market that gives easy mobile access to the free Wi-Fi and includes a mapping service so that customers can find their nearest hotspot.
Non BT customers wanting access to BT’s free Wi-Fi network will need to become a BT Broadband customer first.
BT’s latest deals for new customers includes free BT Broadband and offpeak calls for 3 months which is available to order online at the www.BT.com website. Orders placed before the 16th November will also qualify for a free £25 John Lewis gift voucher supplied by BT.

3 Mobile Broadband Laptop Deals Get Refresh

Mobile operator 3 UK (three.co.uk) has refreshed its range of mobile broadband laptop deals with the addition of three new laptops.
Launched today, the new laptops which are available as part of a mobile broadband and laptop bundle, include the Samsung RV510, the Compaq CQ56 and the Samsung R540.
The Samsung RV510 has an Intel Pentium Dual Core 2.3Ghz processor, 500GB hard drive, 3GB of RAM, 15.6″ HD LED display and comes pre-installed with Windows 7 Home Premium.
On sale with mobile broadband speeds up to 7.2Mbps and a 15GB monthly usage allowance, this laptop and mobile broadband bundle is priced at £35 a month, with a one-off £39.99 upfront fee required.
The Compaq CQ56 laptop features a 15.6″ HD display, 250GB hard drive, 2GB of RAM and Windows 7 Home Premium.
Available for £30 a month with the same up to 7.2Mbps mobile broadband speeds and 15GB monthly data usage allowance, the up front charge for this bundle is less at just £29.99.
The high specified Samsung R540 laptop has an Intel Core i3 2.4Ghz processor, 500GB hard drive, 4GB of RAM and 15.6″ HD LED display.
Equipped with Windows 7 Home Premium, this laptop costs £40 a month and includes the 3 mobile broadband 15GB plan. A one-off up-front charge of £49.99 applies.
All three laptop and mobile broadband bundles include a free ZTE MF112 black USB modem which when inserted into the USB port of the laptop automatically connects to 3’s mobile broadband network which covers 97% of the UK.
3 was recently named the UK’s best mobile broadband provider in a survey conducted by YouGov.

O2 Broadband 3 Months Free Offer Extended

O2 (o2.co.uk/broadband) has extended its 3 months free home broadband offer until the end of November.
The offer, which provides savings up to £75, applies to all 3 O2 Home Broadband packages and the company’s 6 home broadband and home phone bundles.
O2 Broadband packages provide download speeds up to 20Mbps with usage allowances ranging from 20GB to Unlimited depending upon the package chosen.
Each package includes a free wireless router and connection, free UK customer service, McAfee security software and a 30 day Happiness guarantee.
A 12 month contract period applies, whilst there’s also the option to have a flexible 30 day contract provided customers pay a one-off fee of £29.99.

O2 Broadband prices start from £8 a month for existing O2 customers and £13 a month for non O2 customers.

Customers can also switch their home phone line rental to O2 and pay from just £7.50 a month. Unlimited evening and weekend phone calls to UK landlines can be added for an extra £2 a month.
For an additional £5 a month, customers can take the unlimited anytime phone calls plan. This plan also includes 600 call minutes to 0845 and 0870 numbers and 600 call minutes to landlines in 24 international destinations.

Plusnet Broadband Deals Give 3 Months Free

Plusnet, (www.plus.net) one of the UK’s cheapest broadband suppliers, has launched a 3 months free broadband incentive to new customers.
In order to qualify for the 3 months free offer, new customers switching to Plusnet must order online at the www.plus.net website, remembering to enter the promo code ‘november3’ when prompted.
Plusnet offer 3 broadband only packages starting from £6.49 a month for download speeds up to 20Mbps together with a 10GB usage allowance. A free download usage allowance operates between midnight and 8am.
Plusnet also provide 4 broadband and phone packages, the cheapest of which is priced from £6.49 a month for up to 20Mbps broadband speeds plus evening and weekend phone calls to UK landlines. 300 call minutes per month to International landlines is also included.
All 7 packages come with a 12 month contract period, although there is an option for customers to have no contract provided they pay a one-off set up fee of up to £65.
