iPhone 5 SIM Only Deals – £6.90 For iPhone 5 Nano-SIM
[Updated: 17th April 2013] New iPhone 5 SIM only deals have been launched by Three, Vodafone, T-Mobile, O2 and Orange with the cheapest prices starting from just £6.90 a month for Three’s iPhone 5 nano-SIM only deal.
The Apple iPhone 5 uses a new, 40% smaller, nano-SIM card which means that the micro-SIM cards used in the iPhone 4s and iPhone 4 models (and the standard SIM in the iPhone 3G/3GS) cannot be used in the iPhone 5.
The change in SIM card means those who have a SIM-free or unlocked iPhone 5 will need to get a new nano-SIM only deal from one of the UK’s mobile operators.

Three’s (3) new iPhone 5 SIM only deals cost from £6.90 a month. This is for its Essential Internet 200 tariff which provides 200 call minutes, 5,000 texts and a 500MB’s of mobile internet data per month on a 12 month contract.
Those wanting more mobile internet and a flexible 1 month rolling contract can opt for the current best seller, Three’s Ultimate Internet 200 tariff (£12.90 a month) which offers the same 200 minutes and 5,000 texts, plus all-you-can-eat-data – which means you can use the mobile internet as much as you like with no hidden or extra charges.
Three (3) also has more all-you-can-eat-data tariffs available with either 600 or 2,000 call minutes, plus 5,000 texts a month, with prices set at £15.90 and £25 a month respectively.
Vodafone’s iPhone 5 SIM only deals on a 30 day contract start from £10.50 a month for 50 call minutes, unlimited texts and 100MB’s of mobile Internet per month, together with 750MB’s of BT Openzone Wi-Fi access.
Similar 30 day contracts from T-Mobile are priced from £12.50 a month for 100 call minutes, 5,000 texts and 250MB’s of mobile Internet access, while Orange offer 100 call minutes, unlimited texts and 250MB’s of mobile internet for £15.50 a month.
O2’s iPhone 5 SIM only deals on a 12 month contract are priced from £10.50 per month for 300 call minutes, unlimited texts and 100MB’s of mobile Internet.
One supplier who won’t be offering nano-SIM cards anytime soon is GiffGaff (they run on the O2 network) who in their own words on their community blog said yesterday: ‘We hope to have the nano-SIM cards ready for distribution in the coming months’.
So for now, it looks like Three (3) has the cheapest nano-SIM only deals for the iPhone 5 in the UK.
Three (3) are also a good choice as customers should get 4G speeds later this year on their iPhone 5 thanks to Three’s deal with EE’s parent company Everything Everywhere – who have the UK’s first 4G network.
Interested readers can find out more about 3’s iPhone 5 SIM only deals and order online at the Three.co.uk website. Delivery is free of charge and the nano-SIM should arrive within 1-2 working days. There’s also no need to wait in to sign for it.
