Virgin Media Double National Broadband Speeds

Virgin Media has doubled its National Broadband speeds from 8Mb to up to 16Mb.

Formerly known as their ADSL broadband packages, the renamed Virgin Media National Broadband offers new and existing customers the chance to trial the increased speeds at no additional cost for the first 3 months.

After 3 months, customers will need to pay an extra £5 a month on top of their normal package to keep the ‘up to 16Mb’ service.

Unlike its Mother Of All Broadband fibre optic cable offering, Virgin Media National Broadband is delivered over traditional telephone lines and is available to 99% of UK homes which have a BT phone line.

Prices start from just £6 per month for a 16Mb broadband package that includes evening & weekend phone calls to UK landlines.

This pricing applies to 70% of UK homes where Virgin Media has unbundled the local BT exchange – a process known as Local Loop Unbundling (LLU). Should customers not live within one of these areas, they should expect to pay around 20% more.

Usain Bolt To Front Virgin Media ‘Boltband’ Ads?

According to reports, Usain Bolt, the Olympic gold medal-winning sprinter has been approached by Virgin Media to front ads for their super-fast fibre optic broadband service – which could be called ‘Boltband’.

Virgin Broadband

Virgin Media currently offer broadband speeds up to 20Mb with 50Mb fibre optic also being trialled.

A tie up with Jamaica’s Bolt, the world’s fastest man, would be a perfect fit and and build upon the company’s successful ‘Mother Of All Broadband’ campaign.

The Mother Of All Broadband – Virgin Media Fibre Optic

It’s the Mother Of All Broadband, fast, future proof & fibre optic and it’s only available now from Virgin Media for just £4.50 a month.

Virgin Media fibre optic broadband was designed for the Internet whilst the other type of broadband available in the market was designed for phone calls only and uses copper wire that was invented back in the 1870s.

With copper wire broadband struggling to cope with the growth and demand of the web, it makes sense to switch now to Virgin fibre optic broadband.

There’s a range of fibre optic broadband packages on offer from Virgin Media with prices starting from £4.50 a month when taken with a Virgin phone service or £9 a month where no Virgin phone line rental is required.

If you order online you’ll also get up to £30 cash back that will be added as a credit to your first bill.

Virgin Broadband No Telephone Line Rental – £9 p/m

You can now get unlimited 2Mb Virgin Broadband with no telephone line rental required for just £9 a month for the duration of your 12 month contract.

This means you can save circa £132 a year (£11 a month) versus other broadband providers as there’s no need to take or pay Virgin telephone line rental.

If you order this package online you’ll also get £10 cash back that will be added as a credit to your first bill.
