UK Airport Coaches To Have Free Wi-Fi Broadband

Swedish based broadband provider Icomera has secured a contract with Excel Passenger Logistics (EPL) to provide free Wi-Fi broadband access on EPL’s airport coach services in the UK.

The free Wi-Fi broadband access will be available for passengers travelling on EPL coaches that run to and from Liverpool, Manchester and Stansted airports.

The coaches will have Icomera’s Moovbox M200 mobile broadband system installed providing passengers with broadband speeds up to a 2 megabits per second.
Graham Hayden, the Managing Director of Excel Passenger Logistics, said: “We want passengers to enjoy the very highest level of service and the installation of free Wi-Fi on our fleet is a major part of our offering”.

Hayden continues, “For international passengers, the presence of free Wi-Fi avoids expensive data roaming fees that make using 3G connections abroard so unattractive”.

The news follows an announcement from BT yesterday that it is to install Wi-Fi broadband access (via BT Openzone) into a number of UK holiday parks.
