O2 Offers Short Broadband Contract For Students
O2 (o2.co.uk/broadband) has launched a short broadband contract option for students as part of a major revamp of its home broadband packages.
New customers switching to the ISP now have the option of taking an O2 Broadband package on a 30 day contract as opposed to O2’s standard 12 month contract period.
Perfect for students, anyone in rented property or for those who require flexibility, the 30 day contract option is available for an additional fee of £29.99. This is a one-off fee on top of the monthly O2 Broadband package cost.
O2’s revamp of its broadband packages has led to its 3 core packages being replaced by new ones that are tailored to customers’ daily consumption or usage needs, as opposed to headline download speeds.
O2’s move to providing packages based on customers’ specific needs follows a recent survey of 2,000 consumers which found that UK broadband users could be wasting over £700 million a year on broadband speeds they simply did not need.
O2’s new broadband packages, known as ‘The Basics’, ‘The All Rounder’ and ‘The Works’ are currently available with the first 3 months subscription free of charge.
After month three, prices start from £8 a month for ‘The Basics’ package which provides broadband speeds up to 20Mbps together with a 20GB monthly download usage allowance.
Customers can also opt to switch their home phone line rental to O2 and pay from just £7.50 a month.
