BT Infinity Broadband Roll Out Passes 3 Million Homes
BT (BT.com/infinity) has rolled out its super-fast BT Infinity Broadband network to over 3 million UK homes.
In its latest trading statement, the company also revealed that more than 4,000 people per week were now ordering BT Infinity Broadband, with 38,000 already connected to one of the two fibre optic packages on offer.
BT Infinity is BT’s next generation fibre optic broadband network providing download speeds up to 40Mbps, together with upload speeds up to 10Mbps.
4 million UK homes are expected to have access to BT Infinity enabled telephone exchanges by December 2010 as the company continues its roll out to cover two thirds of the country by 2015.
New and existing BT customers in a BT Infinity enabled area can choose from 2 fibre optic broadband packages which offer download speeds up to 40Mbps.
BT Infinity Broadband Option 1 has a 40GB download usage allowance and costs from £7.49 a month when taken with BT’s unlimited weekend calls package.
BT Infinity Option 2 has an unlimited download usage allowance (subject to a fair usage policy) and is priced from £19.99 per month when taken with BT’s unlimited anytime calls package. Upload speeds up to 10Mbps are also available.
