BT Vision To Offer Sky Sports 1 & Sky Sports 2
BT Vision (BT.com/btvision), BT’s on demand broadband digital TV service, will start offering subscribers access to Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2 from the 1st of August this year.
Todays announcement follows the signing of a contract between BT and BSkyB for the wholesale supply of Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2 to BT.
BT Vision customers will be able to sign up for Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2 from early July with the new Barclays Premier League football season set to kick off on August the 14th.
BT Retail’s Chief Executive, Gavin Patterson, said: “We are delighted to have reached this milestone, which means that we can be certain of offering Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2 to our customers before the football season kicks off. We know our customers will be keen to sign up for the two channels”.
BT has yet to reveal its pricing for Sky Sports 1 and 2 on BT Vision, though this is expected to be announced shortly with figures of £20 a month being muted for access to both channels plus ESPN.
Existing BT Broadband customers can pay from £7.50 a month for the basic BT Vision service, while new customers switching to a BT Broadband, anytime phone calls and BT Vision bundle can currently get their first 3 months free, though this online offer ends this week on the 30th June.
