Virgin Media Fibre Optic Broadband Now £5

Virgin Media (virginmedia.com) has launched a web exclusive £5 per month offer for its up to 10Mbps fibre optic broadband service.
Usually £12.50 a month, this new online offer means new customers switching to Virgin Media’s size L fibre optic broadband package can now save themselves £22.50 over the first 3 months of their contract.
Virgin Media’s broadband service comes with an unlimited download usage allowance (a fair use policy applies), free PC Guard security and a free ‘N’ wireless router.
The £5 per month broadband offer is available when taken with Virgin Media’s Talk Weekend package which includes phone line rental and unlimited weekend UK landline calls for £11.99 a month. Weekend calls to Virgin Mobiles are also included.
A BT phone line is not required while many customers switching to Virgin Broadband from a rival supplier like TalkTalk or BT will not need a MAC code in order to switch.

TalkTalk Broadband And Phone FREE For 1 Year

TalkTalk (talktalk.co.uk) has today launched an exclusive 12 months FREE offer on its broadband and phone Essentials package.
The offer is available for 1 week only until Monday June 7th and can be ordered either online at the TalkTalk.co.uk website or by calling TalkTalk on 0800 049 7865.
The TalkTalk Broadband and phone Essentials package provides up to 24Mb broadband speeds together with unlimited evening and weekend phone calls to UK landlines.
A sizeable 40GB download usage allowance and free wireless router is included in TalkTalk’s Essentials package together with a 10% discount on calls to mobile and international phone numbers.

Usually £6.99 per month, TalkTalk’s free broadband and phone calls offer means new customers switching to TalkTalk need only pay for their telephone line rental during their first year, which is currently £11.49 a month.
Over 80% of the UK population live in a TalkTalk Broadband network area and thus qualifiy for this offer.
Switching customers are also not likely to need a MAC code from their existing broadband provider in order to move their broadband and phone service to TalkTalk.

O2 Mobile Broadband Laptops Get Asus UL30A

O2 (www.o2.co.uk) has today announced the launch of a new mobile broadband and laptop package – The Asus UL30A netbook laptop with built in O2 mobile broadband.
The Asus UL30A is a high specification, Wi-Fi enabled, portable netbook that has an impressive 8 second boot up and extended 8 hour battery life. Lightweight and ultra-thin, the netbook features a 320GB hard drive, 3GB of RAM and 13.3″ display.
The netbook also has an Intel Core 2 Duo processor that makes running lots of applications at the same time fast and easy. The Windows 7 Home Premium operating system is also pre-installed.
Available with built in O2 mobile broadband speeds up to 3.6Mbps together with a 3GB monthly data usage allowance, this mobile broadband and laptop package is priced at £30 a month over a 24 month contract. A one-off £79.99 set up fee is required.

BT Fibre Optic Broadband Roll Out Gets £1bn Boost

BT (BT.com/infinity) has announced plans to invest a further £1bn into the roll out of its super-fast fibre optic broadband service which will see coverage extend to two-thirds of UK homes and businesses by 2015.
The news means BT will now be committing a total of £2.5bn to its fibre optic broadband network (known as BT Infinity), which offers broadband download speeds up to 40Mbps.
Around 4 million UK homes are expected to have access to BT Infinity’s super-fast speeds by December 2010, with 10 million homes able to connect by summer 2012.
BT’s additional £1bn expenditure will be managed within their current levels of capital expenditure of around £2.6bn.

BT Infinity Broadband (Option 1) prices start from £19.99 a month for speeds up to 40Mbps together with a 20GB monthly data usage allowance. Up to 2Mb upload speeds are achievable.
Unlimited data usage, subject to a fair use policy is offered with the BT Infinity Option 2 package (£24.99 a month) which also features upload speeds up to 10Mbps.

BT’s rival, Virgin Media, already provides fibre optic broadband packages with speeds up to 50Mbps to 55% of UK homes. Prices start from £15 a month when taken with a Virgin phone line. No BT phone line is required.

Vodafone Mobile Broadband Offers 3 Months Free

Vodafone (vodafone.co.uk) has launched a 3 months free offer across its 18 month mobile broadband packages.
The incentive means new customers ordering online either the Mobile Broadband 3GB Standard, 4GB Premium or 5GB Ultimate package can save themselves £45, £60 or £75 respectively.
Vodafone Mobile Broadband provides download speeds up to 7.2Mbps together with a free standard USB modem dongle that has a useful 4GB MicroSD memory card slot.
The 3GB Standard package provides 3GB’s of data usage per month, plus free Basic PC Protection and 2GB PC Backup. After 3 months, the prices reverts to £15 a month.
The 4GB Premium tariff, usually £20 a month, offers free Premium PC Protection and 20GB PC Backup, while the 5GB Ultimate package, normally £25 a month, offers the same PC Protection and Back Up, but with a Professional USB modem stick.
All packages come with a 14 day money back returns policy.
Vodafone won the Best Consumer Mobile Broadband award at the 2009 ISPA awards and is the UK’s fastest, most reliable broadband network according to independent trials carried out by LCC International.

TalkTalk Broadband Deals Prove A Hit With Brits

TalkTalk’s (talktalk.co.uk) low cost broadband and phone deals are proving a hit with Brits following news that the company attracted 42,000 new broadband customers in the first quarter of this year.
TalkTalk now has the fastest growing broadband provider base in the UK, pushing its total number of subscribers to almost 4.2 million Brits.
The company’s trading statement also revealed that its revenues in the first quarter of the year jumped by 21.7 per cent to £1.69bn.
Commenting on the news, Charles Dunstone, TalkTalk’s Chairman said: “This year, we will focus on two main priorities for the business: maintaining our momentum in the broadband market through continuing to grow TalkTalk’s broadband base and average revenue per user; and completing our ‘one company’ integration programme”.
Dunstone added that “his priority was to add between 140,000 and 180,000 new customers over the coming 12 months”.
