BT Infinity Speed Doubles To 76Mbps For BT Infinity 2
BT (www.BT.com/infinityupgrade) has doubled its BT Infinity speed for its BT Infinity 2 package from 38Mbps to up to 76Mbps for no extra cost.
From April 12th, new or existing BT Infinity customers ordering BT Infinity 2 Broadband will automatically benefit from broadband speeds eight times faster than the UK average, together with the UK’s fastest upload speeds of up to 19Mbps.
Prices for BT Infinity 2 Broadband start from £20 a month for the first 3 months (£26 per month thereafter) and include an unlimited download usage allowance, a free BT Infinity Home Hub, plus unlimited evening and weekend phone calls to UK landlines.
BT Infinity 1 Broadband, which costs from £9 a month for up to 38Mbps download speeds, has also been revamped with upload speeds increasing fivefold to up to 9.5Mbps.
Commenting on the speed increase, BT Consumer’s Managing Director, John Petter, said: “Super-fast broadband is helping people enjoy the internet far more than ever before. However, many providers have forgotten about the importance of fast upload speeds. BT believes that fast upstream speeds are vital given how people now use the internet and so we are distancing ourselves from the competition by providing the UK’s fastest upload speed”.
BT Infinity is currently available to 11 million homes and businesses across the UK (as at October 2012). This is set to rise to around two thirds of all UK premises by the end of 2014.
Readers can check whether their home or business can get BT Infinity Broadband by visiting the www.BT.com/infinity website and entering their phone number or postcode. Orders placed online for BT Infinity will also qualify for a free £50 Sainsbury’s voucher.
