Virgin Broadband 50Mb Fronted By Samuel L Jackson

Hollywood actor and Pulp Fiction star Samuel L Jackson is fronting the new Virgin Broadband 50Mb TV advertisements.

Virgin Broadband 50Mb is the new ultrafast fibre optic broadband service from Virgin Media. Known as the ‘Mother of all Broadband’, the 50Mb service now available in parts of the UK can download a music album in 11 seconds, a TV show in 60 seconds and a film in just 3 mintues.

The TV advertisements kicked off at the weekend with Jackson appearing in front of a wall of bright lights representing Virgin Media’s fibre optic broadband network. “It is 2009,” Jackson says, followed by “Remember the time when the internet revolution really happened.”

Commenting on Virgin’s first TV ad campaign since the 50Mb launch, Ashley Stockwell, Virgin Media’s Managing Director of Brand & Marketing, said: “50Mb is a massive leap forward for the broadband market and promises to transform the way people interact and entertain themselves online”.

Virgin Broadband 50Mb starts from £35 a month when taken with a Virgin Media telephone line and includes unlimited downloads (subject to fair usage) plus a free wireless router and adaptor. Full roll out of 50Mb broadband to the 12.6 million homes covered by Virgin’s fibre optic network will be completed by the summer – With up to 20Mb broadband already available.
