LAST UPDATED 4th September 2026 – BT (Openreach) has unveiled a new BT Full Fibre coverage map (an Openreach fibre checker) that schedules when BT’s new gigabit capable fibre to the premise service will be coming to areas across the UK in 2026 and beyond.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Readers can track when ultrafast BT Full Fibre (also known as BT FTTP) will be built in their area by visiting the Openreach<\/a> website and selecting their area or entering their postcode. They can also use the BT Full Fibre checker<\/a> here which is particularly useful & informative.<\/p>\n

What Does The Openreach BT Fibre Map Show?<\/h2>\n

The new interactive BT coverage map shows Openreach\u2019s FTTP build plans and rollout schedule for their 5,600 exchanges, with each exchange usually covering a village, small town or part of a larger town or city. Users can see areas where the full fibre build is complete, in progress, due to start in the next 12 months, in plan for the future and not in their build plan yet. The build information will also be updated at least every 3 months. The FTTP rollout map does not indicate full fibre deployment related to other programmes such as BDUK, new sites, other smaller scale programmes or infill.<\/p>\n

How Many UK Homes Can Currently Get BT Full Fibre?<\/h2>\n

As at September 2026, just over 25 million UK homes can access BT Full Fibre services. Packages now start from only \u00a325.99 a month for BT’s Full Fibre 150Mbps speed package <\/a>.<\/strong> Areas covered include parts of Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Leeds, Liverpool, Swansea & Salisbury to name but a few. A new Government target of over 85% Gigabit broadband coverage by the year 2030 has recently been set as part of a \u00a315bn investment programme. Openreach is hiring more than 2,500 new engineers over the next year in a bid to help the Government achieve this. Openreach has also set its own ambitious plan to rollout full fibre broadband to 26 million homes & businesses by December 2026.<\/p>\n

BT Full Fibre 500 Broadband\u00a0<\/h2>\n

BT Full Fibre 500<\/a> is now priced at just \u00a332.99 a month. This package provides average 500Mbps downstream speeds, together with the new BT Smart Hub, Norton Security and BT Parental Controls for online safety. No landline phone service is included, but this can be added during sign-up if required.<\/p>\n

BT Full Fibre 900 Broadband\u00a0<\/h2>\n

BT Full Fibre 900 offers average downstream speeds of 900Mbps, which is around thirteen times faster than the UK average broadband speed.<\/p>\n

This totally unlimited package, which has been reduced from \u00a359.99 a month to \u00a340.99 a month, also offers 110Mbps average upstream speeds.<\/p>\n

The latest BT Smart Hub, Norton Security and Speed Guarantee are included in the BT Full Fibre 900 package.<\/p>\n

The usual \u00a320 activation fee is not currently required for any of the BT Full Fibre packages, nor is the \u00a311.99 fee for the delivery (P&P) of the smart hub wireless router. A BT Reward Card up to the value of \u00a350 is available with all BT Full Fibre packages – which is just like having up to \u00a350 cash to go shopping with.<\/p>\n

The EE TV Sport package is currently available for an extra \u00a323 a month. This package includes the 4K recordable TV box, Freeview and the AMC channel as standard. There’s also all the TNT Sports channels to enjoy with live Champions League, Europa League & Premier League football matches, together with rugby, MotoGP, cricket, hockey, WWE and snooker.<\/p>\n
