Virgin Media (virginmedia.com\/hd<\/a>) TV customers will soon be able to watch HD channels for free with Virgin’s new V HD box.<\/b>
\nAvailable from the 22nd March, the new V HD Box will enable new and existing Virgin TV cutomers to watch their favourite TV channels in stunning high definition – And with no additional monthly subscription fee like Sky’s HD pack which costs \u00a310 a month.
\nCustomers will simply need to pay a one-off cost of \u00a349 for the V HD box and \u00a335 for installation, though there will be a self-install option available for \u00a315 from the 1st of April.
\nVirgin Media’s current HD channels includes those from the BBC and Channel 4 that are available to all Virgin TV customers, plus an extensive range of on demand TV & film HD content including recent blockbusters like the Inglourious Basterds, Star Trek and The Hurt Locker.
\nNew customers ordering Virgin Media’s ‘XL’ TV package can also get National Grographic HD, MTV HD, LIVING HD and ESPN HD which includes Premier League football in high definition.

\nNew HD channels from Film4, E4, SCI FI, Discovery, ITV and Eurosport are being added to Virgin’s TV service soon following a series of announcements from the provider in recent weeks.
\nThe new V HD box is a set top box only, so users wanting to record their favourite TV shows in HD will need to upgrade to the V+ HD box that, like the new V HD box, costs a one-off \u00a349, plus \u00a35 a month on top of their Virgin TV subscription fee.

\nUnlike Sky, Virgin Media retain ownership of its set-top boxes. This means customers do not have to face expensive call-out charges or replacement or repair fees should anything go wrong with their box.
\nVirgin Media are currently offering 2 months free on all its TV packages. Prices then start from \u00a35.50 a month for access to 65 digital TV channels and Catch Up TV with the BBC iPlayer, ITV Net Player and 4oD. There’s also a huge choice of films, shows and music videos that are available on demand.
\nCustomers also have the choice of opting for a range of TV, phone and broadband bundles from Virgin Media where the 2 months free offer also applies.
