Tesco Broadband<\/a> could be making a comeback. The retailer has outlined draft future plans to offer cheap broadband and home phone packages to households across the UK which could spark a new price war amongst the UK\u2019s leading ISP\u2019s including TalkTalk<\/a>, BT<\/a> & Virgin Media<\/a>.<\/b><\/p>\n

The plans come as the retail giant announced a new 5 year deal with Cable & Wireless for the provision of wholesale fibre broadband and phone services under the Tesco brand.<\/p>\n

Tesco believes it can build an annual \u00a32 billion turnover with profits of \u00a3200 million from the new broadband and home phone landline services. Tesco mobile broadband deals could also help with that.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the announcement, the Chief Executive of Tesco Telecoms, Lance Batchelor said, \u201cTesco Mobile has shown that we can be successful in telecoms if we have the right partners and the right offer. The new agreement with Cable and Wireless will enables us to offer very competitive pricing in the future”.<\/p>\n

Package, pricing information and launch dates have yet to be revealed by Tesco, though it is thought existing Tesco Clubcard holders will get preferential Tesco broadband and landline deals.<\/p>\n
