Virgin Media (www.virginmedia.com<\/a>) has unveiled a new National Broadband Best Speed Promise to coincide with the upgrade of its national broadband packages.<\/p>\n

The Best Speed Promise aims to guarantee new customers clear information on their likely broadband speed whilst also removing any unrealistic marketing speed claims.
\nIt comes following a recent report from regualator Ofcom that found that many consumers are being promised broadband speeds by their supplier that their lines cannot support.<\/p>\n

The Chief Executive Officer of Virgin Media, Neil Berkett said, \u201cMany consumers are confused by speed claims that are, at best, misleading and, at worst, disingenuous. I hope our National Broadband Speed Promise will help people choose the product that\u2019s right for them and set a new standard of transparency for the whole industry”.<\/p>\n

Graeme Oxby, MD for National broadband at Virgin Media also commented by saying, \u201cOur new speed promise demonstrates we are putting our money where our mouth is”.<\/p>\n

Oxby continued, “We\u2019ve upgraded our National broadband service with the latest superfast technology, meaning our customers can now benefit from faster speeds at no extra cost and with the launch of our phone-line service, we\u2019re able to save customers even more money on bundled services”.<\/p>\n

Virgin National Broadband packages are available to homes that are outside Virgin Media’s fibre optic broadband network. They use the latest ADSL 2+ technology to deliver broadband speeds now up to 20Mbps.<\/p>\n

Prices start from just \u00a35 a month for a bundled Virgin broadband and weekend phone call service that includes a free wireless router kit, PCguard security featuring Kaspersky AntiVirus protection, backup and storage space, plus up to 100 free photo prints per month courtesy of the V Stuff service.<\/p>\n

Customers ordering Virgin national broadband will also be able to take advantage of a special Virgin mobile broadband offer of just \u00a35 per month for 1GB of monthly downloads and speeds up to 1.8Mbps.<\/p>\n
