BT (BT.com\/infinity<\/a>) has revealed it has received over 200,000 votes so far from communities across the UK in its BT Infinity rollout competition.<\/b>
\nLaunched on the 1st of October this year, BT’s Race To Infinity competition will give 5 winning communities BT’s super-fast Infinity Broadband service, with speeds up to 40Mbps, by early 2012 at the latest.
\nPeople have been voting in their thousands to help their local telephone exchange win the fibre optic broadband top prize, with Caxton in Cambridgeshire and Malvern in Worcestershire currently leading the race with over 1,000 votes each.
\nThe BT Race To Infinity competition runs until December 31st 2010 and will help BT determine where its fibre optic broadband will be deployed in the coming years.
\nPeople can find out when BT Infinity will be available in their area by visiting the BT.com\/infinity<\/a> website.
\nBT plans to roll out its super-fast BT Infinity Broadband<\/a> service to two thirds of the UK by 2015, with 4 million premises having access by the end of this year.
