Virgin Media Offers Mobile Broadband For ‘Holidays’

Virgin Media (virginmedia.co.uk) has launched a range of new mobile broadband ‘Travel Passes’ for holiday-makers which aim to remove the worry of unexpected bills when surfing the internet whilst abroad.
There are four different Virgin mobile broadband EU Travel Passes to choose from.
Users can opt to pay £10 for one days data access up to 10MB, £15 for 3 days access using up to 15MB, £30 for 7 days access using up to 30MB and £60 for a 30 day pass providing up to 60MB’s of data usage.
Commenting on the launch, Virgin Media’ Director of Mobile, Jonathan Kini said: “Virgin Media customers never have to worry about accessing the internet while they’re abroad”.
Kini continued: “Whether it’s searching for the best pizzeria in Rome on your mobile or uploading photos onto Facebook with a laptop and mobile broadband, customers now have control over what they spend on holiday”.
The ‘EU Travel Passes’ become effective from the purchase time and expire after the amount of time purchased.
They are available to existing Virgin Media customers together with new customers who sign up to one of the company’s mobile broadband packages.
Virgin mobile broadband prices start from £10 a month for download speeds up to 7.2Mbps together with a 1GB usage allowance. An 18 month contract applies.

Virgin Mobile Broadband Speeds Now Up To 7.2Mb

Virgin Media (virginmedia.co.uk) has increased its mobile broadband speeds to up to 7.2Mbps following the launch of its new USB modem stick.
The new 7.2Mb USB modem stick is available on a range of contract lengths and monthly data usage limits, enabling consumers to select the mobile broadband package that best suits their requirements.
Users can opt for an 18 month contract or a shorter, more flexbile, 2 month contract and choose from either a 1GB or 3GB data usage allowance each month.
This means that for £10 a month on an 18 month contract, users can have access to mobile broadband speeds up to 7.2Mbps with a 1GB monthly data usage allowance. A small £9.99 set up fee is required for the USB modem stick.

Alternatively, users can pay a one off £34.99 set up fee and take the shorter 2 month contract option.
The Executive Director of Mobile at Virgin Media, Graeme Oxby said: “We’re thrilled to be offering this faster mobile broadband to our users. If you’re not at home or near a wireless connection, mobile broadband is the best way of staying connected on the move and we’re delighted to be making this a speedier, more pleasant experience for our customers”.
The new up to 7.2Mbps speeds join the company’s existing range of up to 3.6Mbps mobile broadband packages.

Virgin Media Offers Short Mobile Broadband Contract

Virgin Media (virginmedia.co.uk) has added new short mobile broadband contract options to its range of mobile broadband packages.
Customers can now choose a Virgin mobile broadband package that comes with only a 2 month contract tie-in as opposed to the existing 18 month option.
The monthly charges for both 2 month and 18 month contract options are the same with the 1GB data allowance costing £10 a month and the 3GB data limit £15 a month. Both offer mobile broadband speeds up to 1.8Mbps.
Users opting for the shorter 2 month contract will have to pay a one-off £24.99 for the Virgin dongle, whereas those choosing an 18 month contract get the dongle free.
Virgin mobile broadband has recently been rated best for customer service, usability and easiest set up in a Which? survey.
